It’s no surprise that Durango provides Best-in-Class V6 and V8 towing, allowing you to tow up to 6,200 lbs with the standard 3.6L Pentastar® V6 engine. When equipped with the available 5.7L HEMI® V8 engine (as shown above), the new 2014 Durango offers trailer tow capability of up to 7,400 lbs.
Having the engine up front and the drive axle in the rear gives the Durango a near 50/50 weight distribution. During acceleration, weight shifts to the drive axle to increase down force and help improve traction.
Standard Trailer Sway Control+ applies brake pressure on alternating wheels and may adjust engine throttle to help eliminate sway and maintain vehicle and trailer system stability.
Dodge Durango now comes standard with the new fully-electronic, class-exclusive eight-speed automatic transmission, providing better fuel economy+, quicker acceleration and smoother shifting. The class-exclusive electronic rotary shift knob+ adds a level of interior refinement, while standard steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters help provide precise manual control of the eight-speed transmission.
Available on select Durango models, the All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) system helps enhance driver confidence by leveraging the SUV’s 50/50 weight distribution. The Durango offers two AWD systems – one for the HEMI® V8 and one for the Pentastar® V6 powered models – each one greatly enhances the vehicle’s traction and handling by delivering a smooth driving experience on a wide range of road conditions.
All-speed traction control determines when to apply the brakes to one or more wheels and when to reduce engine torque so you can enjoy every curve.
Carry up to 150 pounds of gear with the available Stow ‘N Place® Roof Rack System with integrated stowable crossbars. When not in use, you can fold the crossbars into the side rails to help improve aerodynamics and reduce wind noise. Properly secure all cargo.
Keep calm and drive on with standard fog lamps guiding the way.
New available LED daytime running lamps and standard projector headlamps with available LED accents light up the road like a red carpet. Available auto-leveling technology adjusts the headlamp beams’ aim for slight changes in road surface elevation so you’ll know what’s coming. Available Automatic High-Beam Control Headlamps adjust high beams automatically, while available low beam headlamps enhance nighttime visibility.
New signature floating split-crosshair grille with dark or bright accents is designed to lead you forward without looking back.
The available heated power mirrors keep your mirrors free of fog and frost, which can help you keep a better eye on objects and vehicles behind you.
The brand-new steering wheel comes standard with a range of high-tech features to keep things low effort.
Relax in plush, cloth seats or available Nappa leather-trimmed seats.
You and your co-pilot will enjoy the comfort of available heated and ventilated, eight-way power driver and front passenger seats with four-way power lumbar support.

We back every Dodge brand vehicle with the 5-Year/100,000-Mile Powertrain Limited Warranty+. It covers the cost of all parts and labor needed to repair a covered powertrain component. Coverage also includes towing to the nearest Chrysler, Jeep®, Dodge or Ram vehicle dealer, if necessary. The warranty is also transferable to a new owner during the warranty period. For details, see your Dodge dealer.
Available Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Stop is a driver-assist feature that uses a radar sensor to detect vehicles ahead. When you have cruise control initiated, and slower traffic is detected ahead, ACC will automatically adjust your vehicle’s cruising speed to help maintain your set distance using throttle control and limited braking. When necessary, it will slow to a complete, controlled stop in an effort to help prevent a collision.
The available Forward Collision Warning System+ uses radar sensors to detect when your vehicle may be approaching another vehicle too quickly. When the system detects a potentially hazardous situation, it alerts you by sounding a chime and displaying a visual message in the instrument panel and may apply a brake jerk to warn the driver of a potential collision so the driver can respond to the situation.
Help avoid potential accidents by taking advantage of the available ParkSense® Rear Park Assist System and the ParkView® Rear Back Up Camera. ParkSense detects objects when moving in reverse at low speeds and audibly alerts you of the potential danger, while ParkView delivers a wide-angle view of what’s behind you in your Uconnect® Touchscreen.
